December 29th., Little Bay's run-down;

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

slush and water is the state of the Bays ICE as of the past couple days.
Talking with several fishermen going off the Day's River Yellow Gates running into deep slush but having at least 8 inches of good ice below.
Seeing a lot more truck travel although ATV's and Sleds for the most part.
Gentleman fishing the Escanaba Harbor said caught 7 nice crappie with perch minnows until a big pike showed up in about 5 feet of water.

Catches of numerous small undersize Walleye again this beginning of the season with Perch mixing in good numbers.
Again traffic north of Kipling Launch, Butler's Island and the Day's River upper Bay all good starts. Breakline edges and weeds,

Jigging and tip-ups;
Raps, spoons, shiners and perch minnows.
Cooling down this upcoming week should tighten the ice/slush up again with less snow to deal with.

sounds like I could be heading your way toward the end of Feb, have to hit Wisconsin, back home and Illinois first. Have you tried anything over in Big Bay Marty? Out in front of Nahma used to be our hot BIG PIKE bite back in the day.

Keep in touch and seeing you on the ice.
